Individual Membership

Membership in ESGE is open to physicians (or trainees) with formal training in gastroenterology, surgery or internal medicine, who wish to benefit and also to contribute to the society's purpose to promote good endoscopy.

Twenty-two ESGE national societies have joined forces with ESGE to offer their members dual membership. Through this cooperation, individuals from these national societies may join ESGE at a reduced rate.

ESGE Individual Membership benefits

  • Substantially reduced registration fee for ESGE organized events
  • 20% registration fee reduction to ESGE endorsed workshops
  • ESGE eLearning FREE of charge
  • Eligibility for ESGE Fellowship grants: Available to members under 40 years of age. This program includes not only basic endoscopy training but also hands-on training at ESGE host units
  • Eligibility for ESGE Research grants
  • ESGE Research activities: Members are encouraged to take part in research projects
  • ESGE Guidelines: Members are regularly updated on ongoing guidelines and those interested are encouraged to be actively involved
  • Access to the members’ only area of the ESGE website

ESGE Individual Membership application and fees

If you are a physician with formal training (or a trainee) in gastroenterology and / or surgery and / or internal medicine you are eligible for ESGE Individual Membership.

The annual fee for ESGE Individual Membership is € 195,- for the term beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the current year. An official invoice will be issued. ESGE offers a reduced fee for those joining at an ESGE booth in the later quarter of the year.

Please complete your application and submit it as directed. You will immediately receive an automated confirmation of receipt. After ESGE Governing Board approval you will receive an official welcome letter including your membership ID. Payment for the annual membership fee is possible via bank transfer and credit card.

* If you apply for membership in October or November 2019, you will be able to take advantage of selected benefits on the day of your membership’s approval (registration to ESGE Days 2020 at member rate, endorsed events registration fee reduction). Access to all other benefits will become available as of December 1, 2019 from within the myESGE members area.

Individual Trainee Membership

If you are a postgraduate full-time trainee in gastroenterology and/or surgery and/or internal medicine and employed in a clinical unit with formal activity of digestive endoscopy you are eligible for ESGE Individual Trainee Membership.

Trainee Membership requirements
Postgraduate full-time trainees in gastroenterology and/or surgery and/or internal medicine are eligible for trainee membership. Employment in a clinical unit with formal activity of digestive endoscopy is required. Trainee membership is limited to a period of two years. After the first year of trainee membership the application will be reviewed.

Required documentation

  1. Completed application form
  2. Letter of confirmation from the Program Director of the training institution confirming the candidate’s full-time training status and the duration of the training
  3. CV

Trainee Membership fee
The annual fee for ESGE Trainee Membership is € 95,- for the term beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the current year. An official invoice will be issued. If the application is submitted after January the back issues of Endoscopy for January and each following month up to the month of application will be delivered.
