ESGE NEXT GENERATION AWARD

ESGE Days 2026 session titled "ESGE Next Generation Awards" takes place on Friday, May 15 at 17:30-18:30 where awardees will present their work in person!



This ESGE award was first introduced at ESGE Days 2024, in honor of the 60th anniversary of ESGE’s founding. The ESGE Next Generation Award shines a light on the most promising and emerging young investigators in GI endoscopic research. Moreover, this prestigious award can significantly advance your professional and academic career.

Up to 5 awardees will be selected based upon a record of high-quality endoscopic research publications and developing scientific independence.

The ESGE Next Generation Award is a recognition award. Awardees will receive their award at ESGE Days 2026 (May 14 – 16, 2026, Milan, Italy). Awardees must be physically present at ESGE Days to receive their award.

• Complimentary ESGE Days 2026 registration
• A travel and accommodation grant of up to 1.200 EUR*
*Award winners are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangement
• An invitation to ESGE Days 2026 presidential dinner
• Possible additional faculty tasks at ESGE Days 2027

Before applying, and for details on the criteria and evaluation process, please read the ESGE Next Generation Award Policy.

• You must be an individual member of ESGE at the time of application and have your primary residence and workplace in one of the ESGE member society countries
• You must be must be born after 31 December 1984
• You must have at least 3 published original articles focused on endoscopic research and being first and/or corresponding/last author in a Q1 Journal. This does not include case reports, review articles, letters to the editor, or book chapters
• You must have a Google Scholar account
  
• You must supply a letter of nomination from your ESGE Member Society
• You may be at any academic career level (including trainee status) except “Full Professor”
• If selected, you must be able to be onsite and to present a talk on your endoscopic research at ESGE Days in fluent English
• If selected, the award and the benefits must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted, or redeemed for cash
