Multidisciplinary Guidance in Biliary Complex Interventions Advanced Course 2026
SUMMARY
This course focuses on two fundamental areas. Firstly, it will address the drainage of malignant proximal biliary strictures, both in the preoperative setting and in tumor palliation.
Educational methods:
- Lectures with interactive discussions between participants and Faculty members
- Supervised hands-on training on ex-vivo models and mechanical simulators
- Objective structured assessment of technical skills
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Provide participants with updated, evidence-based knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of complex biliary strictures
- Train participants in multidisciplinary therapeutic strategies, particularly in the drainage of malignant hilar obstructions
- Improve decision-making skills through interactive case-based learning and discussion
- Offer practical experience in advanced endoscopic and radiologic techniques, especially in patients with altered surgical anatomy
- Explore the role of high-quality biliary drainage in enhancing outcomes in the era of novel systemic treatments, including immunotherapy
- Promote the integration of theoretical knowledge with technical competence in a highly specialized setting
