THE ESGE MENTORING PROGRAMME


ABOUT


The ESGE Mentoring programme, an initiative of the ESGE Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Working Group was launched in 2023.

This is a one-year support programme designed for GI endoscopists who wish to be supported by a mentor in their professional development and/or in their research and academic development.The programme aims to promote diversity in the ESGE community and to support endoscopists who have had difficulty finding mentors and/or role models in their immediate community or who have been hindered in their professional development due to their personal, economic, or social situation.

The mentoring programme is not a fellowship grant programme and improvement of endoscopy skills not the sole or primary purpose of this programme. Rather it is a programme designed at addressing core career needs in a personal way and mentorship can make all the difference in making progress for the mentee.

The call for mentors is for ESGE individual members who have the experience and motivation to support and guide other endoscopy colleagues on their career path.

The call for mentees is for ESGE individual members who would like to be supported on their career path.
