Strategic aims and responsibilities


The ESGE-Endoscopy Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group provides scientific leadership in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence in endoscopy. The Working Group addresses key challenges in the development, validation, regulation, and implementation of AI technologies, while also advancing the responsible integration of AI into scientific publishing and peer review.

  • To streamline science-driven AI implementation in endoscopy, encompassing regulatory science, human–AI collaboration, foundation models, quality assurance, and clinical integration.
  • To establish best practices for the responsible use of AI in scientific publishing and peer review for endoscopy journals and conferences, promoting research integrity, efficiency, and publication quality.
