WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear colleagues in endoscopy,
On behalf of the ESGE Scientific Committee, it is my pleasure to present the abstracts accepted to ESGE Days 2026 in this supplemental edition of Endoscopy.
We are delighted to see the continued growth of the ESGE Days meeting, reflected not only in the impressive number of abstract submissions received, but also in their outstanding scientific quality. This year we received 2395 abstracts, representing a 21 % increase on last year. The breadth of topics and strong international representation signal the rapid evolution of GI endoscopy and the commitment of our community to advancing research, innovation, and patient care. Original research remains the foundation of our congress, and together we are shaping the future of our field.
We extend our sincere thanks to all authors who submitted their work and I sincerely hope they enjoy the experience of presenting their science at our meeting. Each year we work hard to conceptualize innovative ways to showcase the research on offer. In Milan, abstract authors will showcase their work in oral presentation and pitch your poster sessions. In addition, for 2026 we are introducing ePoster Connect, an in-person forum where delegates with shared special interests can explore and debate the latest science. The six top-ranked abstracts from this year will be presented in the Presidential Session and a dedicated Best Abstracts session. To these researchers we give our heartfelt congratulations and hope that presenting their work under this accolade is a highlight of their endoscopy career. Furthermore, in recognition of the most recent evolution in our field, we are introducing two dedicated Late-Breaking Abstract Sessions, providing a platform for the most up to date and innovative research.
I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of the Scientific Committee, reviewers, and the ESGE Office team, whose efforts have created a high-quality and engaging programme.
At ESGE Days 2026, our mission is to Reimagine Endoscopy: Smarter, together and for the future. We invite you to explore the research presented in this supplement and to join us in Milan to further our mission together.
Your ESGE Scientific Committee Chair,
Tomáš Hucl
