NEW ESGE Guideline

Bowel preparation for colonoscopy: European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Guideline – Update 2019

C. Hassan, J. East, F. Radaelli et al.

An adequate level of colon cleansing is critical for detection, characterization and resection of colorectal neoplasia at colonoscopy. To update the original ESGE guideline, a comprehensive review was done of randomized trials pertaining to bowel preparation published over the past six years. This includes the use of new web-based applications to improve colon preparation compliance, as well as new data for low-fibre diet, types of laxatives, and timing of preparation administration.
