This ESGE position statement comprehensively addresses, for the first time in Europe, a clear framework for the provision of training in both capsule endoscopy and device-assisted enteroscopy. It encompasses the skills required prior to commencing training in small-bowel endoscopy, structured training for trainees to become independent endoscopists, and ways of ensuring competence is achieved, with several practice recommendations.
