About Research Grants
ESGE research grants support innovative, original research in gastroenterology. Advance your endoscopic research by winning up to 10,000 € of financial support from ESGE and guidance from top European endoscopists.
In 2021, the research grants evolved and the ESGE Research Champions' Den was created. The Den is the culmination of the research grant application process, taking place at the ESGE Days.
Potential contenders submit their research idea online. The ESGE research committee reviews the applications and attributes a score to each valid application.
The top rated research proposals will be selected for oral presentation at the Den competition during the ESGE Days.
Following the presentation, a jury of five eminent researchers will rate the proposal. The best two or three will be awarded a Research Grant.

Requirements
- Applicants should be ESGE Individual Members working in a medical institution within the ESGE zone (Central and Western Europe, Mediterranean and North Africa). For further information on individual membership benefits please click here
- Young researchers are encouraged to apply
- The award winner will be committed to submitting the study results to Endoscopy
- The award winner will be committed to supplying study reports to ESGE
