Real cases will be first introduced to trainees and faculty to confirm the endoscopic diagnosis and reassure indication for ESD. Two operating rooms will work in parallel with one expert running each room and 4-5 participants attending the procedure. During live performances experts will give tips on endoscopic diagnosis and ESD technique. Q&A and direct interaction between experts and participants will be permitted during live procedures.4.A hands-on activity in animal models. 3stations with live piglets will be set every day. Participants will keep swapping through the different stations during the working day.
The Course aims to offer Western endoscopists a reliable vision of the real practice of Japanese and top world experts concerning the diagnosis of early gastrointestinal tract neoplasias and the use of ESD technique for its management. Through two pre-established lectures and also supported by several clinical seminars and the continuous interaction between experts and participants in the operating rooms, the trainees will learn most key points in the endoscopic assessment and theESDtechniqueperformance for the management of these lesions. This real-time approach to the standard practice of the experts will help participants to acquire several skills that can noticeably improve their clinical practice. In addition, the hands-on stage under experts direct tutoring appears as an essential opportunity for participants to assimilate all the tips received and also develop their skills in the ESD technique following advice of the experts.
