Summary

This is the second cycle of a training course which is intended to provide tecnical and theoretical skills to reflect a subset of recommendations reported in the “Curriculum for endoscopic submucosal dissection training in Europe: European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Position Statement” (a).

In particular quoting the above mentioned curriculum:

  • Proficiency in EMR and adverse event management is recommended before starting ESD training
  • Knowledge of the ESD theory is necessary before and during training
  • Practice on animal and/or ex vivo models is useful to gain the basic ESD skills

 

Course description

This program is intended to create a pathway for the management of complications after mucosal and submucosal resection from more simple procedures to more complex procedures, it also conceived to provide the technical and theoretical tools to manage other GI complications as iatrogenic perforations and fistulas/leaks.

This program articulated on 2 separate cycles (expert and master), each one structured as

  • Training module: Full day theorethical and hands on session
  • On line follow up

 

Course Activities

Training module Expert – 15 November 2022

Focuses on theory and practice on small and medium/small defects in mucosal and sub mucosal resections and iatrogenic perforation

Training module Master – 15 February 2023

Focuses on theory and practice on large and medium/large defects in mucosal and sub mucosal resections and leaks/fistulas

On line follow ups

Training and Trainee centers will meet on line to review the experience, show and discuss relevant cases from each institution – On line follow ups dates to be defined among participants

Number of participants, requirements, submission process, logistic

Max 12 participants per training cycle

Requirement will be initial/basic experience with OS system in clinical practice.
