ESGE Guidelines: Member Society and Individual member selection
On behalf of the ESGE guidelines committee and the leaders of the following guidelines, I would like to thank all the individual members and member societies who replied to the call for participation launched in December 2019. A total of 107 applications were received, including suggestions of experts from 8 member societies.
The quality of applications was very high, and this, combined with the diversity of countries and member societies represented, contributed to optimize the selection of the expert guideline panels. A scoring system used to evaluate the applications was based on the following criteria: Experience, scientific level, CV, publications, gender, age and country. Each guideline expert panel was established with great consideration to ensure that a fair balance was achieved according to these criteria. The variety of the experts’ backgrounds, level of experience and geographic location contributes to the ESGE guidelines representing a European consensus, striving to give the most helpful recommendations and guidance to endoscopists in their daily practice.
ESGE congratulates the selected candidates and wishes them an inspiring guideline journey!
