ESGE’s 60th birthday approaches: join our diamond jubilee celebrations!

2024 will mark the 60th year since the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy was founded, on June 6, 1964.

To celebrate this important milestone, we are planning a series of events, projects and publications for our ESGE community – some of which we are excited about making public, some of which are still under wraps!

A ESGE Jubilee committee has been established with Professor Thierry Ponchon as Chair and members comprised from both ESGE membership and the office support team.

Projects already in motion include 12 special ESGE Jubilee editorials planned for the Endoscopy journal and a particular ESGE jubilee webinar you can already look forward to.

As a special highlight of the ESGE Jubilee year we are planning a practical and theoretically oriented intensive endoscopy training opportunity for our ESGE young talents.

Furthermore, some unique and unmissable Jubilee celebrations at ESGE Days will await you.

Professor Ian M. Gralnek is part of the committee planning the events linked to our diamond jubilee; “In 2024, ESGE will be celebrating with our community 60 years of advancing quality and innovations in GI endoscopy and I feel very lucky to be ESGE President at such an important milestone for our society. Alongside the festivities it’s important for us that our celebrations also leave a legacy – so we’ll be launching some exciting educational projects that invest in the future of our members, and our society as a whole. I invite you to join us during 2024 to participate in the many special events and activities honoring and recognizing our diamond jubilee year.”
