Wolfson Unit For Endoscopy, St Marks Hospital
Polypectomy is one of the commonest therapeutic procedures performed by an endoscopist and is critical in the management of many patients undergoing colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. Following on from unit 2, "Quality measures & optimal polyp detection", this teaching module outlines the main aspects of the technical skills involved in removing polyps up to 20mm in size (commonly agreed to be the size up to which every endoscopist should be competent). It also touches briefly on the approach to larger lesions.
