| Summary |
- The aim of this symposium is to review current practice on the use of sedation for gastrointestinal endoscopy around the world and elaborate guidelines on this topic, based on current published evidence, for the safety of the patients.
The area of sedation is controversial and is rapidly changing. For the first time experts from around the globe will come together to review current practices on the use of sedation for gastrointestinal endoscopy and elaborate guidelines on this topic, in a unique multidisciplinary context that we believe is vital to move forward in this controversial field.
- In addition we have developed the model of pre-established working groups which prepare documents in advance to ensure optimal use of time during the meeting.
