Membership in the ESGE is open to physicians (or trainees) with formal training in gastroenterology, surgery or internal medicine, who wish to benefit and also to contribute to the Society's purpose to promote good endoscopy.

ESGE Individual Membership Application and Fees
Individual Membership
If you are a physician with formal training (or a trainee) in gastroenterology and / or surgery and / or internal medicine you are eligible for ESGE Individual Membership.
The annual fee for ESGE Individual Membership is EUR 195,- for the term beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the current year. An official invoice will be issued. ESGE offers a reduced fee for those joining in a later quarter of the year.Please see the application form for further details.
Please complete your application and submit it as directed. You will immediately receive an automated confirmation of receipt. After ESGE Governing Board approval you will receive an official welcome letter including your membership ID. Payment for the annual membership fee is possible via bank transfer and credit card. For those who supply credit card details on application, the fee will be deducted from your account after approval. Those who select to pay via bank transfer will receive the ESGE bank details.
Please note that, should you receive the journal Endoscopy via your national society, it is possible to join ESGE at a reduced annual membership fee of €50. Please contact the ESGE Secretariat for details.

Individual Trainee Membership
If you are a postgraduate full-time trainee in gastroenterology and/or surgery and/or internal medicine and employed in a clinical unit with formal activity of digestive endoscopy you are eligible for ESGE Individual Trainee Membership.
Trainee Membership requirements
Postgraduate full-time trainees in gastroenterology and/or surgery and/or internal medicine are eligible for trainee membership. Employment in a clinical unit with formal activity of digestive endoscopy is required. Trainee membership is limited to a period of two years. After the first year of trainee membership the application will be reviewed.
Required documentation
- Completed application form
- Letter of confirmation from the Program Director of the training institution confirming the candidate’s full-time training status and the duration of the training

Trainee Membership fee
The annual fee for ESGE Trainee Membership is EUR 95,- for the term beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the current year. An official invoice will be issued. If the application is submitted after January the back issues of Endoscopy for January and each following month up to the month of application will be delivered.
