ESGE EUROPEAN POSTGRADUATE GRANT

The European Postgraduate Grant is offered by the ESGE to fully trained East- and Central-European endoscopists who wish to undertake further training in highly specialised endoscopic techniques at an officially recognised ESGE training centre. The length of time each grant covers an eight week training period.

The grants will be utilised to cover the following :

  • Economy travel: will be reimbursed on presentation of the appropriate receipt
  • Basic hospital/university accommodation: single room, with shared facilities (kitchen, bathroom & laundry) is organised directly by the ESGE Secretariat
  • Upkeep: a weekly allowance of € 125 will be provided on site
  • Insurance: where applicable

Applicants must be below the age of 40 as at 1 January of the year of application in order to apply.

Please note that hands-on training is NOT foreseen and is not offered by the ESGE host centres. Experience has shown that most doctors are able to travel with a standard holiday visa which should be organised by the applicant prior to departure.

Selection and site allocation will be made by the ESGE Education Committee.

Application forms for 2004 will be available on the website as of December 2003. Applications must be made through the ESGE Technical Secretariat. The following information must be included:
· completed application form
· certification that the applicant is qualified in diagnostic endoscopy
· reference from current employer
· a complete curriculum vitae
