Given Imaging Research Grant
Purpose
The Given Imaging Research Grant has been initiated to support innovative, original research in gastroenterology with substantial involvement of capsule endoscopy. We would like to thank Given Imaging for their support to this ESGE research project.
Requirements
- Application is open to ESGE Individual Members working in a medical institution within the ESGE zone (Central and Western Europe, Mediterranean and North Africa). For further information on individual membership benefits please click here.
- Applicants should have capsule endoscopy experience
- Applicants should have access to a capsule endoscopy system
- Young researchers will be treated with preference
- The award winner will be committed to submitting the report results to Endoscopy
- The award winner will be committed to supplying a study report to ESGE
Benefits
- A substantial number of capsules will be provided, the number determined by the Grant Committee on review of the successful grant application
- Travel expenses and Ethical Committee fees will be covered up to a maximum total value of €8,000
Preferred research areas
- Expanding the experience for the use of PillCam® COLON in CRC screening and surveillance, e.g. to improve the compliance of patients
- Use of PillCam® COLON to complement colonoscopy in various indications
- Use of PillCam® SB in patients with IBD to guide therapeutic treatment (monitoring of mucosal healing, investigation of the extent and location of the disease)
- Use of PillCam® SB in advanced indications (e.g. in pediatric patients, GI bleeding in ER (emergency room), IDA)

Research Grant Committee
The Research Grant Committee is responsible for the nomination of grant winners. Nominations are subsequently submitted to the ESGE Research Committee for final endorsement.
